Dystopian Classics Cover MockUps

“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” The age old saying is one that still rings true today as you walk through the bookstores and realize that, literally, these book covers were a clear afterthought for those in charge of publishing. My plan is to take two dystopian classics, The Giver & The Book Thief, and redesign their covers in a packable series. There will be two versions of these covers. One will feature purely typography and the other will exhibit further imagery. The style, in both cases, will mirror the bold, matte, tri-colored style of the Fahrenheit 451 cover (another classic in the genre). The color scheme will be warm and simple. Shapes will be basic yet provocative. Overall, the new feel of these books in all cases will feel more appropriate to the genre and leave those scanning the shelves with no choice but to pick up a new read.
