Listermann's Beer Label Competition

Listermann's Brewing Company and Innovative Label Solutions (ILS) hosted a label art competition for a new exclusive New England-Style Indian Pale Ale. Four winners were chosen to be featured in the 4-pack to be released 3/23. Winners were selected based on craft, creativity, and relevance. My concept was a parody piece of the Beastie Boys album "Licensed to Ill" with the name referencing a specific song on the album, "The New Style." With both its relevance to the NEW flavor and NEW England style, the idea also holds relevance to the brewery as many of their past beers seek to give homage to 80s Hip-Hop.

A special feature of the design is the use of material. The below white layer seeks to show which parts of the can are metallic in finish and which are matte. The pieces designed in blue have white ink. The less blue, the more metallic that area becomes. This is meant to emphasize the plane and the beer further from the similarly color background.
